But then that's also why I had to move away from playing Dungeons and Dragons, 'cause it's just 'kill kill, more xp, level up, kill kill, loot loot, more xp.' But hey, I've only ran role playing games for more than a decade and actually prefer to give players a challenge rather than a grind. Make it costly enough that people would only do that on really prized items. In fact, another cool mechanic they should implement is being able to get an enchanter to bind items to you, in case you did get looted you wouldn't lose that. Rinse and repeat.īesides, don't most games even have a system where items are 'bound' to you? In which case those items wouldn't be stolen. Instead most modern MMOs are only a grind where you wonder aimlessly about, generally running around town in a circle to collect all of the available quests, then run out in the wilderness, again in a big circle, completing the quests, then returning to town to get the reward (again in a big circle).

The difference is at least there is some adrenaline going when you're trying to run from a mob of PKers (I believe that term originated in UO) and trying to hurry up and whip up your marked stones so you can teleport away to town, or wherever, it is at least a rush.
#CONFIGURE XBOX 360 CONTROLLER FOR X3 REUNION WINDOWS#
Sorry, back to topic, the real questions here are A) If they're porting Alien: Isolation to Linux, is it going to have all the graphical frills of the Windows version, and B) is it going to support SteamVR, because that would be absolutely amazing. An example would be Borderlands 2, which doesn't have the PhysX (or which ever physics API they use, can't recall) in it, so liquids and particles don't look as good. Of course this also brings up that some ports (not because of the porting house, just because of APIs used in the original) are sometimes not as good. I'm just excited that so many games are being released for Linux, and I really appreciate the devs who release them simultaneously instead of releasing their game, then farming out to porting houses which have to then port and probably fix a bunch of bugs as well.

But then of course Satellite Reign's beta was released, so I've been playing that much more than any other game.

Same thing was with ARK, ended up stopping playing it on Windows so I could play it on Linux. I bought Alien Isolation when it was on sale before I'd heard they were porting it, which now means I have to wait to play it ON Linux.
